Life
Robin Gregory (a teacher by profession) is the mother of Aisha, and Jim Tyler, a photographer, her father. When she was just 10 years old, her parents got separated. After their separation, her father took care of her. Aisha had great interest in comedy when she was in high school. She often used to miss her regular school classes to attend local improv classes. In San Francisco, Aisha attended McAteer High School. She in addition attended high school classes at San Francisco School of the Arts. Aisha got a degree in environmental from Dartmouth College where she was a member of The Tabard, a co-ed organization.
Aisha co-founded The Dartmouth Rockapellas group and even sang in it to spread social consciousness through song.
Career
As the host of Talk Soup and the reality dating series The Fifth Wheel, Aisha kicked off her career in TV in the year 2001. In independent projects like a role in the play Moose Mating (she even received an NAACP Image Award for it), Aisha had dedicated a major amount of her time. Aisha, owner of a flexible personality, also wrote, directed, and even appeared in the independent short film The Whipper.
With a chronic role as Charlie Wheeler, Aisha appeared in Friends. She sustained this up with guest appearance on CSI: Miami and Nip/Tuck. She even managed her roles on both CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and 24.
Aisha acting experience also embraces CBS drama Without A Trace, numerous movies like The Santa Clause 2, the sequel The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, .45, and the hilarious Balls of Fury.
Aisha appeared the breath taking thriller Death Sentence and the outstanding crime drama Black Water Transit in the year 2007. But working in movies does not mean that she quitted TV, as she continued to appear on television, with appearances on Boston Legal, Reno 911!, The Boondocks, and as a guest movie critic on various episodes of At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper, filling the void that was there with the absence of Roger Ebert (while he recovered from surgery).
Aisha has even got hands in print media and that too as a regular contributor to Glamour and Jane magazines. Swerve: A Guide to the Sweet Life for Postmodern Girls is the name of her first book that was released in January 2004.
Aisha’s guest appearance list also includes her appearance on Kanye West’s single, “Slow Jamz”, along side Twista and Jamie Foxx.
In the May 2006 issue of Allure magazine, Aisha appeared in a nude story along with other celebrities. Allure’s yearly Nude Issue raises money to help those who are battling against skin cancer.
Very recently, it was said that ABC network had given Aisha her own talk show called The Aisha Tyler Show.
On the extremely popular television series Ghost Whisperer, Aisha Tyler played the role of Andrea Marino. Her role was quite an interesting one, which was even appreciated by everyone.Andrea was a tall and single woman up until her death.
Personal life
Aisha has been married to an attorney, Jeff Tietjens since the year 1992. Both Aisha and her husband love beer and both of them are home brewers. On DC 101’s Elliot in the Morning and The Sharon Osbourne Show, she had also talked about her love and passion for beer.
She worked in a video for Barack Obama shaped by will.i.am and entitled as Yes We Can, in January 2008.
