Jennifer Love Hewitt, 30, has been portraying the character of Melinda Gordon on Ghost Whisperer from four consecutive seasons. Her character has the ability to talk to the ghosts and she helps the spirits of the dead by passing their messages to their family members and the ones concerned to them any way. Her character on Ghost Whisperer has helped Melinda to secure a strong fan base and people know her better as Melinda.

As of now, it seems that Melinda Gordon is taking over Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jennifer herself admits so. In an interview given to The National Ledger, Jennifer Love Hewitt says that people sometime mistake her for a woman who can actually talk to the ghosts. In fact, people also believe that Jennifer has the same psychic abilities which Melinda has on Ghost Whisperer and it makes them come to her for help.
